Vintage Drill Press Atlas 42 Craftsman Dunlap 12 Inch, COLUMN COVER CAP TOP PLUG

This assembly is for a Sears Dunlap 12 inch drill press, based on the Atlas model 42, as made from the late 1930's to the early 1940's.
Drill press specs-
Speeds: 4 groove pulleys.
Work piece limit: 12 inch.
Column: 1-5/8 inch diameter
Chuck attachment: 1/2" NF threads
This item was cleaned and then coated with mineral oil as a rust inhibitor.
Look at the photos carefully...the photos are the primary element of this item description.
As a used part, you should expect the normal wear and aging affects of vintage machinery.

There is one small and shallow indentation, which includes some loss of plating.  The indentation should be easy to push out.  This is a very presentable part.
